SparkleSquad

What is sparkle? It’s the thing that makes you special. It’s the reason journalists want to tell your story. We find the sparkle. And if it doesn’t exist yet, we’ll create the sparkle.

We aren't just your PR firm. We are a strategic partner that works with you to develop programs and initiatives that will attract media attention. We work to develop story ideas that are timely and relevant, that honor the current news cycle and storylines. We create the narratives. With almost four decades of combined experience, we know what journalists are looking for and how to find your sparkle.

We know what we do is just one part of the big picture and we want everything we do to work in tangent with the rest of your communications. We’ll be with you every step of the way when it comes to your comprehensive marketing strategy. We’ve guided destinations through rebrands, creating or revamping major festivals, and ultimately finding ways to increase visitation.

So who are we exactly? We're PR geeks who love media. Pink, sparkly, media-consuming PR geeks.

Three Things You Wouldn't Know About The Sparkle Boss

Taryn’s most viral PR moment wasn’t for a client but rather during the pandemic when her husband, a primary care physician, dressed up as the Easter Bunny to bring joy to the kids in the neighborhood. “Doctor Making House Calls as Easter Bunny” was featured by CBS News/The Uplift, Good Morning America online, Fox & Friends, People.com, AOL News’ Homepage, Yahoo and more. The story reached more than 40 million people worldwide. To this day, her girls have no idea their dad was the man in the bunny suit.

Taryn ate a cheeseburger on a macaroni and cheese bun for an episode of Food Paradise filmed in Grenville for The Cooking Channel. She is lactose intolerant.

Taryn helped set up a real bowling alley on 6th Avenue and 47th St when TK PR client Kids Bowl Free appeared on Fox & Friends. It took more than 8 hours to build overnight, and the last screw was drilled in about 90 seconds before we went live on air.

On Brenda's first day at TK PR — due to unforeseen circumstances — she found herself on a press trip, drinking samples of spirits from a local distillery with a seasoned journalist from USA Today. She went bottoms up instead of telling him that she'd only been a publicist for five hours.

In an effort to make the most beautiful property "Bravoholics" had ever seen, Brenda purchased more than $1000 worth of fresh flowers for a client during a reality tv filming. Update: not one single petal made it into the final cut of the episode.

Brenda helped Janice Dean report a total solar eclipse from Greenville, South Carolina to more than 1 million viewers on Fox & Friends. If you looked for Brenda on camera she was the one running around frantically, before the sun even came up.

Nan played the role of unofficial bodyguard for culinary sensation and celebrity chef Tyler Florence during a book signing event with more than 300 eager fans during a public relations conference.

Nan often entertains journalists who are visiting Greenville, which means she has the difficult task of dining in some of the city's most delicious eateries. Though her favorite meal to date was actually at The Greenville Zoo where she fed lunch to Autumn and Miles - the Masai giraffes. Their meal of choice is lettuce.

Nan always sparkles though she happily sported a Hogwarts robe and wand in order to uncover the newest pop-up speakeasy in town; Harry Potter himself would never have known she's actually a muggle.
